Cold Water Storage (CWS)
GENERAL PROJECT INFORMATION
LOCATION - Dublin City Project - Dublin Landings Block 3
INDUSTRY - Residential Housing
PRODUCT - Insulated Sectional water tanks
INDUSTRY - Residential Housing
PRODUCT - Insulated Sectional water tanks
- Installation of a selection of Balmoral Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) water tanks.
- Tanks sizes and capacities:
|
2.0 x 1.0 x 2.0m = 4.0m3
2.0 x 2.0 x 2.0m = 8.0m3 4.0 x 5.0 x 2.5m = 50.0m3 |
- Indoor installation in a basement tank room location.
- Tanks required internal & external ladders, dividers, drip trays and “Format 30” insulation.
DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS
- Quick Installation - the Dublin City Project had a strict timing schedule. The CubicM3 installation team co-ordinated with the site to ensure that installation ran smoothly and the project was delivered for the client within the required timeframe.
- Pre-assembled for a confined space - GRP tanks are constructed from 1.0 x 1.0m sections and smaller sized panels as required. For this project, installation within a confined tank room was achievable because the panels could be transported to site pre-assembled.
- CubicM3 employed a similar method for supplying the drip trays. The drip trays are prepared and assembled by our team and then brought to site in sections. Each section is then welded together.
- The CWS GRP tanks are now being used to store cold water, mains water and rainwater.
- Highest quality standards - all materials used in the production and assembly of Balmoral GRP tanks are rigorously tested for potable water compatibility. This includes long term material performance and mechanical properties, non-metallic components, adhesives, etc. Combined, these analyses form the basis of the company’s extensive QC procedures.
- Bespoke design - the design of each sectional tank panel is modelled using Balmoral Tanks' FEA software. This allows fine detail to be thoroughly investigated and improved before proceeding to mouldmaking and production.
- This installation was part of a larger residential housing project for CubicM3 that has also involved Dublin Landings Blocks 4 & 5.
